In fact, I’ve eaten sufficient cabbage soup to satisfy a little country! I’m 5 feet 10 and I previously weigh 230 pounds and required to shed a good 50 pounds to have myself in certain sort of shape. After which it hit me. It appears very logical now and so simple but I had ignored the most basic weight loss solution of all. Here’s how I discovered it. I was in the UK on holiday and staying with an Aunt. We were having tea together and my Aunt was watching her favourite daytime Tv show known as “Today with Des and Mel.” The host, a rather charming guy called Des O’Connor was being asked how he kept so trim and slim and indeed virile at aged 70 (he had merely once again become a father) and he gave me the simplest weight loss solution I’ve ever heard. Actually you’d be seriously challenged to discover a fitter and more vibrant looking 70 year old anywhere on the planet. Des’s response was that he just eats one meal each day in the evening, and in fact eats as much as he would like at that one meal sitting. Through the day, he may well graze on a bit of fruit and naturally drinks plenty of fluids but he swears by the plan and has done for over 40 years. This sounded indeed simple and unbelievably easy and I was really unsure regardless of whether it would appeal to me. However, it’s depending on pure logic. By missing out on substantial calories during the day, the entire body compensates for it in the evening and then stores up calories to keep you heading the next day until your evening meal. Nevertheless, I am no scientist or physician and I’m simply interested in results. Here’s how it did wonders for me. Week One was a little challenging. I did nibble on the odd cookie to keep me going with my morning black coffee. I missed the social aspect of lunch but contented myself with learning that I was doing my health and body a big favor. In week one, I lost 6 pounds and in the first month, 15 lbs decreased off my body! In month two, I ditched another 13 pounds. In month three, I lost a further 12 pounds and in month four, an additional 11 lbs making for an overall weight loss of 51 pounds in FOUR months. Really incredible. I am nevertheless staggered by it. I don’t suggest this plan for life and have gradually reintroduced a healthy breakfast and a very light lunch.
