How To Get More From Your Workout

I know you’re still reading about how great cardio workouts are. You probably see it on television too. I just want to give you a friendly reminder that traditional cardio movements aren’t going to get you anywhere when it comes to weight loss. You can talk about your experiences in the weight loss forum.

The style of exercising called interval training is what you need to do to get the fat off of your body. It’s going to do more for you and in less time than cardio ever will give you.I’ve been looking through a study by an obesity research group that put a group of obese test subjects through a battery of aerobics six out of seven days each week. These folks were 40-75 years old and their sessions lasted sixty mins. each.

What’s really surprising is that these people were able to continue on this kind of routine for a one-year period. That’s something that would be hard for me. With all that time and all that exercise, I bet you think these people finished up lean and mean, fit and trim, right?

You’ve got to sit down for this because the women in the study had an average loss of 4 lbs after working out this much for twelve months!

The men in the group did slightly better: just over six and a half pounds. Still, that’s not much to write home about. You’d think that these people would have lost way more than twenty or thirty pounds with all the time they’ve invested in exercise. Cardio won’t provide rapid weight loss.

In my opinion, four or six points is not worth 300 hours of exercise to accomplish. If you’re interested in wasting your time, you will find cardio workouts to be the best way to go.

You’re going to avoid hundreds of hours of wasted time if you will stick with interval training and resistance workouts as your method of reaching your weight loss goals. You will look much better after you lose 20 pounds.
